About This Spot

Walking into LEYLA Mediterranean Kurdish restaurant is like stepping into a warm embrace infused with the aromas of slow-cooked spices and fresh herbs. Nestled on Beechmont Avenue, this inviting spot offers a relaxed, unhurried mood where friendly voices mingle with the gentle clinking of glasses and soft conversation. The space settles into a comforting rhythm that encourages lingering—whether by the cozy indoor tables or beneath grapevines on the shaded patio, inviting you to savor not just a meal but a moment.

LEYLA’s kitchen feels alive with tradition and passion, crafting dishes that unfold like stories on the plate. There’s a genuine care that shows in every detail: crisp pita bread to scoop up velvety hummus, the gentle smoke of shish kebab grilled to tender perfection, and sweet, flaky baklava that melts delicately alongside a strong cup of Kurdish tea or coffee. Dining here is less about rushing and more about discovery—each bite invites conversation, curiosity, and warmth, often accompanied by thoughtful explanations from the staff eager to share their knowledge and heritage.

The atmosphere strikes a lovely balance between family-style comfort and a quietly refined sense of place. Portions arrive generous and artfully assembled, perfect for sharing and savoring together. We came for a late lunch/early dinner. The food was good, and we enjoyed talking with the staff. We talked with a cook who is clearly passionate about her work. We'll be back!

This is a must try with authentic Kurdish flavor and incomparable freshness. Staff are wonderful and will explain anything you want to know about their menu. The food and dessert are delicious. The baklava may be the best I’ve ever had! Truly a hidden gem!

Fantastic experience! Absolutely amazing, beautiful, delicious food and the patio was enchanting with the grapevines overhead. Emma was so nice and we are so glad we came to dine here- would highly recommend. A perfect restaurant.

If I could give 10 stars (or more!), I would. Have you ever gone into a place and felt so immediately and warmly welcomed that feeling like family doesn’t even begin to describe it? The food is delicious, portions are generous and artfully presented. Emma and Comert are both friendly and accommodating. Get the cold appetizer and mixed grill and try it all! You will not be disappointed!

If you want quick dinner, this probably isn't the place for you (service was good but on the slower side). If you want delicious fresh tasting food, this is def the place for you!

I walked into this place with NO expectations after trying a few Turkish restaurants in Cincinnati that totally disappointed me in the past. I had very low expectations of this place. However, I was BLOWN AWAY! The cook doesn’t cut corners when it comes to cooking, they showed up to work ready to serve the best quality, and it shows. I’m completely blown away and impressed by the level of authenticity of this place!! The food is a 20 out of 10 internationally for a specialty mixed grill!!! Perfect amount of salt, perfect tenderness, it’s not dry like other restaurants, and I’ve had the worst around Cincinnati lol The yogurt drink is the authentic middle eastern flavor of yogurt, which was shocking, the sourness and the kick in the drink is something I couldn’t find anywhere else, hands down best yogurt drink! The tea looks imported, very fragrant and fresh, not too light, and not too dark. I ordered the Kibbeh and I expected to get JUST kibbeh, but they served us a huge bowl of salad, seasoned nicely, and the authentic yogurt dip, i can’t speak enough about the consistency of the yogurt dip, it was perfect! Everything tasted fresh, you can tell they wash their produce before they serve it. The place is so cozy and clean, i loved the ambiance! And the patio area is so cute Overall, I can’t stress enough how impressed I am by the high quality of food served here, totally recommend this place. it’s real authentic Kurdish food. Definitely going back to try more items!

We had an early dinner and were one of only two tables. The service was very good, the bread was fresh out of the oven and delicious. The Gyro Kebab was amazing. We will be going back to try the falafel, kibbeh, hummus and the yogurt drink!
